World Learning, with partners from the University of Virginia’s Center for Politics, Experiment Argentina, Experiment Chile, Global One to One, and Global Ties ABQ, is proud to administer the 2018 Youth Ambassadors Program for Argentina & Chile March 22 – April 2. Thirteen youth from South America (ages 15-18) and two adult mentors will gain the knowledge and leadership skills to become more engaged in their communities, and get to know the United States. Youth Ambassadors addresses three primary areas for the students: civic participation, appreciation of multi-ethnic diversity, and youth leadership. In addition, for the accompanying adult participants, it addresses adult leadership and mentoring.

Voices from the Margins, a World Learning Communities Connecting Heritage project in partnership with Global One to One in Albuquerque, New Mexico U.S., and Khoj Studios in Delhi, India.  January-June, 2018: students in both locations will explore the role of cultural heritage in the development of contemporary cultural identity in communities that historically have been marginalized. Over the course of the 5 months, students will exchange videos, online chats, blog posts to share their discoveries and collaborate in creating a public exhibition of their work to be shown in both Albuquerque and Delhi. Students from the U.S. will travel to meet and celebrate the public exhibition of their work in June, and their peers will travel from India to New Mexico in July, 2018.
